Funeral services for Elizabeth “Blue Eyes” Tate, age 72, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Jacksonville with Dr. Pete Freeman officiating.
Burial will follow at Still Waters Memorial Gardens, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Tate passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 in Jacksonville.
She was born May 18, 1937 in Frankston.
Mrs. Tate was a member of Central Baptist Church, Jacksonville. She volunteered at the Jacksonville Chamber and Love’s Lookout Visitors Center.
She is preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Hazel Walker, sisters Juanice Bostick, Reba Kay Walker and Carol Walker, and brother Carl Walker.
Survivors include husband James Tate of Jacksonville; son James Earl Tate, Jr. and wife Janet of New Waverly; daughters Karla Kay Welch and husband Kenneth of Willis and Laura Tate Carpenter and husband Michael of Crosby; sisters Nadie Jo Massey of Jacksonville, Valda Louise Waters of Frankston, Jackie Dawson of Jacksonville and Gale Smith of Winnsboro, brothers James Walker, Dale Walker, Larry Walker, Ken Walker and Ronnie Walker, all of Jacksonville; five grandchildren Mark Ross, Josh Ross, Amy Moyer and husband David, Erin Carpenter and Brooklyn Carpenter; six great grandchildren Nicole Ross, Mark Ross, Jr., James Ross, Abigail Moyer, Eva Moyer and Madison Moyer; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews Mark Ross, Josh Ross, David Moyer, Matt Smith, Kevin Walker and Stephen Walker.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, February 26, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
