Funeral services for Anita Small, age 72, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 10:00 am Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Jacksonville with Rev. Dr. Edwin Crank and Rev. James Blaylock officiating.
Burial will follow at Lake Chapel Cemetery in Fairfield at 2:30 pm Wednesday, February 3, 2010.
Mrs. Small passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010 in Tyler.
She was born September 16, 1937 in Winter, TX.
She was a longtime member of Mt. Selman Baptist Church, pastor’s wife for over 50 years, Administrative Assistant at BMA Seminary in Jacksonville, past president of WMA, served on the Board of Visitors and a board member of the Alumni Association at Jacksonville College, member of Red Hat Society and Golden Jubilee at First Baptist Church, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Small is preceded in death by her parents Halley Meriman Box and Zelma Juanita Best Box and husband James Harold Small, Jr.
Survivors include sons Harold Small and wife Fran of Cleveland, TX and Keith Small and wife Rhonda of Longview; brother-in-law Gordon Small and wife Mary of Fairfield; six grandchildren John Eric Small and wife Ashley, Jenneth Britt and husband John, Jordan Small and Lauren Small, all of Cleveland, Jessika Lee Small and Shawn Keith Small, both of College Station; and two great grandchildren Tyler James Small and Ryan Matthew Small of Cleveland.
Pallbearers will be Michael Bowen, Larry Clark, Mike Ward, John Sanders, Jerry Don Sanders and Harold Lewis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hal Ellison, Nuel Myers, Cecil Pond and Ronnie Lee.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
