Funeral services for Tracy Dreman Tidwell, age 73, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Jacksonville with Dr. Darin Wood and Rev. Steve Edwards officiating.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Jacksonville.
Mr. Tidwell passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010 in Hearne.
He was born June 27, 1936 in Jacksonville to Clyde Tidwell and Ila Mae Stancil Tidwell.
Mr. Tidwell was a member of Central Baptist Church, Jacksonville and member of Adult 4 Men’s Sunday School class, retired from U. S. Air Force in 1975 as a Master Sergeant, worked at the post office for 21 years in San Antonio and Tyler, retiring in 1998 and he loved restoring furniture, antique radios, and making furniture for others. He also loved gardening, farming and studying God’s word.
He is preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy Rhodes and Marie Hesterley and brothers Clyde Tidwell, Jr. and Douglas Tidwell.
Survivors include Mary Jean Tidwell of Jacksonville; sons Garry Tidwell of Lumberton, John Randal “Randy” Tidwell of Schertz, Scott Tidwell of Godley and Mark Ross of Tyler; daughters Alice Weissman of Sayre, PA and Linda Marie Brandon of Alvin; sister Betty Traylor of Temple; eighteen grandchildren – three currently serving in the U. S. Military; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Adult 4 Men’s Sunday School class.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, January 22, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, Jacksonville Building Fund.
